Introducing the Phonak Audeo Life Lumity hearing aids

Phonak Audeo Life Lumity hearing aids launched in August 2022 and became Phonak’s second-generation rechargeable waterproof hearing aid.  At a glance, the technology of Autosense OS 5.0 offers improved speech enhancement and directional microphones that claim to provide better speech clarity in background noise.

Even though these hearing aids do not include a telecoil, they do have a push button, are waterproof up to 1.5m, and can withstand being underwater for up to 30 minutes.  This also means they are sweatproof, and include health data tracking features (first seen in Fit Paradise) – a hearing solution worth considering if you have an active lifestyle and need your hearing aids to keep up.

Trying to stay focused, engaged and keep up with conversation in noisy environments is a challenge and can make you fatigued.  The StereoZoom 2.0 technology adapts the level of focus as your background noise increases giving you around 2.5 dB better signal-to-noise ratio.  There is even an option to manually personalise your sound focus using the Speech Focus Slider in the myPhonak app for an extra boost.

The SpeechSensor technology is an algorithm that detects the direction of the main speech signal so you can understand speech (15% better) when speech is coming from the rear and side.  Plus, Phonak claims that there is also an 11% improvement in reduced listening effort.

This hands-free Lumity hearing aid for both iPhone and Android phones also includes Motion Sensors and 360-degree listening for a full soundscape, improved clarity in background noise and focus on speech automation.

What does this mean for your hearing?  This technology means you will be able to fully immerse yourself in conversations and enjoy better hearing in different listening situations.  This could be in quiet or noisy environments like a library or a restaurant.

Phonak Audeo Life Lumity app, Bluetooth connectivity, and colours

Using the myPhonak app you can tap into new health-tracking features. For example, tracking steps, activity, distance, and wearing time. You can also use the Remote Care app feature to gain a more bespoke listening experience and telehealth services.

You might also find the Remote Virtual Appointment feature convenient for on-the-go adjustments with your audiologist via the Telehealth care option.

These hearing aids are compatible with both iPhone and Android smartphones, have universal connectivity, and can connect to multiple Bluetooth-enabled devices. For direct calls and streaming you’ll need Bluetooth 4.2 as a minimum.

Available in eight colours, these are Sand Beige, Beige, Sandalwood, Chestnut, Champagne, Silver Grey, Graphite Grey, and Velvet Black.
